Zurich Classic | April

April 24 - 30, 2017

Professional golf has been around New Orleans since 1931 and an annual event since 1958. Over the years, big names in the golfing community have left their mark here, including Byron Nelson, Billy Casper, Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino, Tom Watson and Seve Ballesteros. Past winners included Ben Crenshaw, Davis Love III, Louisiana native David Toms, Vijay Singh, Nick Watney, Bubba Watson and most recently Seung-Yul Noh. Over the past few years, the Classic has attracted such golfers as Rickie Fowler, Graeme McDowell, Steve Stricker, Luke Donald, Camilo Villegas, Ben Crane, Nick Faldo, Payne Stewart, Greg Norman, Ernie Els, David Duval, Chris DiMarco and Phil Mickelson to name a few.

Jazz & Heritage Festival

Celebrate the music and culture of Louisiana at this fantastic, annual festival. While jazz is the festival’s bread and butter, audience members will also hear R&B, Cajun Music, Afro-Caribbean music and more—any music significant to the N’awlins identity is fair game! Enjoy this event in late April and early May.

Essence Music Festival | July

This popular festival, which started in 1995, celebrates the vibrant African-American culture of Louisiana. The Essence Musical Festival has featured everyone from Beyoncé to Earth, Wind and Fire, to Stevie Wonder, and promises to be as exciting as ever this year. The fun begins in early July.

Bayou Classic | November

The Bayou Classic is an annual college football game between the Grambling State University Tigers and the Southern University Jaguars, both of New Orleans. Watch the rivalry unfold in late November of each year!

Sugar Bowl | January

This annual college football game has been played every year since January 1, 1935. The tradition continues to this day, as the Sugar Bowl takes the Mercedes-Benz Superdome by storm on the first day of each New Year.
