While you may still be clinging to those last carefree days of summer, Halloween is fast approaching and it’s about time to switch focus. There’s plenty of fall fun to be had and one event that’s sure to jump-start your autumn enthusiasm is the Scout Island Scream Park.

Starting on September 27 and running right through to November 2, City Park gets an ultra spooky makeover. The fun happens every Friday, Saturday and Sunday during those dates and is sure to be an ultra thrilling adventure. City Park’s eight acres will be divided into several terrifying themed zones including My Blood Homecoming Fright Zone, the Kraken Pirate Pub and Music Hall, the Balderdash Boutique, the Devil's Swamp Haunted Terror Tour, and many others.

If your kiddies are too little to take part in the scary stuff, not to worry. A special scare-free zone will also be available and will host plenty of family-friendly festivities. There will be a pumpkin patch, hayrides and a range of other fall-themed activities. On Halloween from 6 pm to 7:30 pm there will also be a scare-free trick-or-treat event and special kids zone activities for the littles.

Hours for Scream Park run from 6 pm to midnight on Fridays, 11 am to midnight on Saturdays and 11 am to 11 pm on Sundays. The Grand Opening of the festival is on September 27 and 28. Hours for each attraction vary. Tickets for all portions of Scream Park are currently available online. Prices also vary depending on which areas you want to visit and range from $20-100. There is even a $5 chaperone ticket available for adults accompanying children who hold full price tickets.

After a hectic day of fun, you’ll need comfortable New Orleans accommodation. With its Louisiana hospitality, affordable rates and convenient location, the Best Western Plus Westbank is the perfect spot to wind down.
